Our Story

Hello and welcome to my blog! I hope you will stay a while! My name is Janet and I am currently residing in New York with my fiance, Leo, and our two fur babies, Rogue E Bear and Hunter.

We have been engaged since July 7th, 2011 and have recently just moved into our newly renovated apartment just last year in December. It has been and continues to be quite a process, but it's nothing that we won't get done together! Anyway, next on our list of things to do is saving and planning for a wedding. Exciting, but again, not easy!

Here at this blog, you can follow us on our journey from day to day life, to wedding planning, and everything else exciting. I will share recipes, great deals, shopping tips and more. Please follow us for everyday updates as I will try my very best to update this blog as much as I can. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me via email at any time.

This is us. We have been together since October, 2004. Yes, that makes 9 years this year. It certainly does fly by fast! Long story short, we met during my freshman year in college through a mutual friend and no, it has not been a whirlwind romance since (haha!). I won't lie and say it's been rainbows and butterflies since day 1 because relationships do take work and compromise.

In these 9 years, we've learned a lot about each other and we certainly have grown a lot as well. We are definitely not the same couple that we were 9 years ago, but better! We've learned to trust each other and to work together - to compromise and to never go to bed mad. Again, relationships take a lot of work, commitment and dedication. It won't work  if you cannot trust each other and remember, the key to all working relationships is communication. Trust me, 9 years and still going strong!

In these past few years, we have also added two new additions to our little family, our fur babies, Rogue E Bear, the Shiba Inu, and Hunter, the Rottweiler. Yes, we know, what a little pack! They are definitely a handful, but also a ton of fun to be around! They are very different dogs, but get along just fine. Rogue E Bear is the queen of the house, I'm sure you can tell (haha!).

This is Hunter! He is the sweetest, biggest ball of mush ever. I swear, at first sight, a lot of people may find him intimidating because of his size, but he means no harm. He is 2 and a half years old, turning 3 in August, full bred Rottweiler, weighing in at 80 lbs. He is small for his breed but every ounce Rottweiler. He is a mama's boy and plays well with all dogs. We love bringing him and Rogue E bear to daycare (yes, we spoil them rotten and they deserve it!) and it has helped them become the dogs that they are. They are well socialized, but still have a small problem with playing on leash as all dogs do. He loves getting his butt rubbed and belly scratched and is in fact a very needy dog. I spent my first 6 months living away from home with this little man and he has been such a delight since. I'm not sure I could have made it without him as I was very homesick and alone at the time.

This is Rogue E Bear. She is seriously the princess of the house. You can probably tell by looking at that picture of her. She gets away with everything! Being the Shiba Inu that she is, she is very independent and does not like to cuddle. She does, however, love attention and getting her snack on. She is turning 2 in a couple of weeks and weighs in at around 20 lbs, give or take a few. She is the more vocal of the two dogs and definitely gets her way around with that cute little face of hers. She gets along just fine with Hunter and despite her little size, picks on him quite a bite. You can tell who the queen of the house is, huh? She is also on the smaller side as a Shiba Inu, but otherwise fits their description to a tee.

A lot of times, we are asked if having two dogs is a handful. Why do we even own two dogs? And how do we have time for them? My answer? It's easy, especially when they are a part of our family. Yes, having two dogs is never easy. They are expensive and definitely high maintenance. They take a lot of patience, hard work and training. Dogs aren't for everyone, but for us, they have become such a huge part of our family. We love them like we would love our kids, hence, our fur babies.

If you would like to see more pictures and updates on our fur babies, please follow me on Instagram. I usually update it with several pictures of them multiple times a week. If you have any questions on training or on our puppies, please feel free to email me at any time!

Happy browsing with much love from our family to yours!
